Bright Festival of Photography
Whether you’re an experienced photographer or a novice keen to improve your camera skills, the Bright Festival of Photography has an in-depth three-day program that’s sure to meet your needs.
The program includes guided photowalks, workshops, demos, gear, competitions and lectures. You’ll meet some of the industry leaders, learn new techniques, and be challenged. All set against the backdrop of beautiful Bright and the surrounding Victorian High Country.

Feathertop SpringFest
October 5
This foodie extravaganza sees local producers gather at Feathertop Winery as part of a cosmopolitan marketplace.
SpringFest sees producers from the Alpine and surrounding Valleys showcase their produce and celebrate what makes this area the epicurean-centre of North East Victoria.
Featuring great wines, craft beer, local produce, entertainment, stunning views, good people and good times.

Harrietville Half Marathon
October 6
The Harrietville Half Marathon, which takes you from Bright to the quaint Alpine village of Harrietville, caters for runners of all levels.
For the serious runner, there’s’ the half marathon (21.1 kilometres) course starting in Bright. For those less serious but who still run regularly there’s the 10 kilometre course starting in Smoko, or for a fun family experience there are five kilometre or two kilometre courses.
There are pre and post events as well, along with lots of prizes.
Not only will you get to run through some of the country’s most spectacular mountain scenery, but you’ll be raising money for the Harrietville Primary School.

Bright Spring Festival
October 26 to November 5
Enjoy a wide range of open gardens bursting with colour at this popular annual event. Prise the minds of owners about how each garden was created, and what it takes to keep them looking their best.
The Spring Festival also incorporates a range of other activities, including markets, art exhibits, walks and fireworks, to name a few.
Myrtleford Agricultural Pastoral Show
October 26
This is a traditional rural agricultural fair, perfect for a family day out!
Now in its 72nd year, the Myrtleford Show brings together a wide range of activities and events. Your kids will love the animal nursery, show bags and rides, while the big kids will enjoy the wood chopping, cattle and horse events, dog jumping and chainsaw exhibitions – amongst many other events!
Food and beverages are available, so make a day of it at the Myrtleford Showground – just 30km from Bright. Tickets are available at the gate.
Bright Oktoberfest
November 2
Bright Oktoberfest is a celebration in the style of a traditional German Oktoberfest. It is a free entry event with live music alongside traditional food and drinks, located at Bright Centenary Park in the centre of Bright.
Held on the Melbourne Cup long weekend, join Bright Oktoberfest for two days of drinking, dancing, eating, live music and lots of fun.
Pull on your best dirndl or lederhosen and show them off.
