Mount Buffalo National Park is an outdoor wonderland, located a short distance from Bright and Porepunkah.
Home to a pristine Alpine wilderness, you can walk until your heart’s content along more than 90km of hiking trails, ranging from short, easy strolls to longer day hikes – many of which give you access to stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountain peaks.
In the warmer months, take a dip in one of the many fresh water creeks or lakes such as Rollasons Falls and Ladies Bath Falls, or just take a picnic and admire the views. Hire a canoe on Lake Cantani and enjoy a paddle across this serene lake.
In the winter months, if there’s enough snow you can cross country ski on groomed trails at Cresta Valley or toboggan on a slope opposite Dingo Dell Cafe – which is also the perfect place for a warming coffee and hot food. The kids will love making their own snowman, or just having fun playing in the snow!
For the more adventurous there’s rock climbing, abseiling, paragliding and caving activities – to name a few – to partake in, all of which will get your heart racing and add to your experience. There’s lots of things to do at Mount Buffalo!
