Enjoy the best dark beers at this family-friendly event
Darker Days, held at Bright Brewery, is a popular day-long event that brings together many of the region’s top craft brewers in a celebration of rich, dark beers.
Held on Saturday June 29 in the depths of the Alpine winter, you’ll be spoiled for choice as you sample the delicious brews on offer.
Beyond the fabulous range of local beers, Darker Days will have kids’ entertainment from 12pm, which includes stories and music under the children’s teepee, face-painting, wooden toys and ghost tours.
Live music will feature throughout the day, and if you don’t fancy a beer there’s local gin, coffee, whiskey and a range of food producers to choose from.
One of the highlights is the lighting of the communal bonfire, the perfect spot for you, your family and friends to stay (very!) warm on a brisk winter’s evening.
The event is also when Bright Brewery releases the new vintage of its Stubborn Russian Imperial Stout.
Bright Brewery head brewer Reid Stratton is confident the 2019 vintage of Stubborn Russian will be a hit.
“We’re doing things a little bit differently this year and the stout will be steeped in oak after fermentation to give it a lusciously roasted finish,” Stratton said.
The 2017, 2018 and 2019 vintages of Stubborn Russian will be pouring from Bright Brewery’s taps during the event, giving visitors the chance to ‘collect’ all three beers.
Entry to Darker Days is via a donation to the Bright CFA, and beer drinkers will be able to buy a collectible, limited-edition tasting glass from which to enjoy beers from High Country brewers.
