Yack Station Arts Hub is a unique space that has been created for local artists in Yackandandah.
The building which has been purpose built from predominantly recycled and re-purposed building materials provides working studios for local artists from Yackandandah and the surrounding area as well as a gallery shop of local and Australian artwork.
Yack Station provides a destination for visitors to watch the artists engaged in their varying creative practices of ceramics, contemporary jewellery, spinning, weaving, painting and working with mixed media. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase original art pieces on site.
The tranquil location is the site of the old Yackandandah Railway which is no longer operational. A small railway museum is located in a re-purposed guards van which is built into the main building structure . The museum houses a number of photographs of the old Yackandandah railway station as well as a model of the Yackandandah and Beechworth railway stations.
