The Big Walk is an 11km hike that takes you from the base of Mount Buffalo to the Gorge, up 1,000 metres in elevation.
Starting near the entrance of Mount Buffalo National Park, this stunning walk takes you through a variety of climatic zones as you gain elevation.
You’ll also enjoy stunning views of the Ovens and Buckland Valleys, and the other peaks in the Australian Alps, including Mount Bogong and Mount Feathertop.
The track is steep in parts, and it’s important to come prepared for all types of weather. Water is also in limited supply.
Parking is available at either end of the walk.
