Gayle Taylor and Serena Abbinga searched for over three years for a suitable site across Victoria before finding 60 acres at the foothills of the Victorian Alps in the Everton Hills alongside such neighbours as Giaconda, Savaterre and Castagna.
In 1999 Serengale Vineyard was established with the goal of producing the best grapes for making into premium wines.
Serengale Vineyard wine is made from specially selected handpicked bunches using wild yeast, gentle handling, unfiltered, low intervention wine making techniques. The wines are given plenty of time to mature, both in the best French oak barrels and in the bottle before releasing to produce intricate, intense yet delicate wines.
Gayle focuses on expressing the season, the variety and the select areas of the vineyard, to make hand-crafted wines that reflect a sense of place and season.
The cellar door experience is set within our winery, where you can taste our wines surrounded by the ambiance of the wines maturing in the best french oak barrels, looking out over the vineyard from where it all starts.
They are open by appointment and on the second weekend of each month October to May.
