This historic short walking trail in Bright gives you a tangible insight into the town’s extensive gold mining past.
Starting from Howitt Park, this short Bright walk will see you’ll follow the Ovens River as it careens through rock canyons. There are two suspension bridges across the river, giving you great views of the canyon. There’s clear evidence of mining activities all along the 5km trail, with plenty of informative signs along the way to help explain what you’re looking at.
The first part of the trail is sealed and flat, however it becomes uneven after that so sturdy footwear is recommended.
